We are proud to share that he got to be a part of the wonderful Hudson Valley Honor Flight's Mission 1000 on September 10, 2016. Please enjoy these photos of his trip in remembrance of his wonderful life. A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have followed his stories and corresponded with him here - you brought so much joy to his life.

One Final Salute |
I'm Here!
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint of the snow,
I am the sunlight on the ripening grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Rest in Peace Warrior!
RIP Soldier.
I will miss Sol's posts, may he rest in peace.
A Wonderful Tribute to a very fine gentleman! His blog writings were so significant to his readers as he 'relived his wartime experiences'!
I am saddened to hear of your loss. We all lost something on that day. Although I didn't know him outside of blogging, it was clear to me that he was a great guy and truly one of the greatest generation our country has ever seen.
Rest in Peace Sol...
I am so very sorry to hear of Sol's passing. I reached out to Sol several years ago when I was creating a blog for my dad, a WWII pilot. I enjoyed our many telephone calls throughout the years and treasured our long distance friendship. He was such a gentleman. He always commented how much he loved my southern accent. I will miss you my sweet friend. Elizabeth Bacher
Dear Sol...still hard to believe you have left us. I continue to reread your blog. You enlightened me so much through your postings. Gave me a better prospective of the events through your writings. I will miss our phone calls. See you one day.
Love you...Elizabeth
On this day, 73 years ago, D-Day commenced.
Just wanted to stop by and let you know, that you are not forgotten. Not who you are, or what you have done. RIP Sol...
Thank you so much for remembering him today, Pat. We love and miss him dearly and he would be so touched by your tribute.
