Our beloved Oldest Military Blogger passed away shortly before his 94th birthday. We are proud to share that he got to be a part of the wonderful Hudson Valley Honor Flight's Mission 1000 on September 10, 2016. Please enjoy these photos of his trip in remembrance of his wonderful life. A Wonderful Tribute to a very fine gentleman! His blog writings were so significant to his readers as he 'relived his wartime experiences'!
I am saddened to hear of your loss. We all lost something on that day. Although I didn't know him outside of blogging, it was clear to me that he was a great guy and truly one of the greatest generation our country has ever seen.

I am so very sorry to hear of Sol's passing. I reached out to Sol several years ago when I was creating a blog for my dad, a WWII pilot. I enjoyed our many telephone calls throughout the years and treasured our long distance friendship. He was such a gentleman. He always commented how much he loved my southern accent.
